Boston, MA, May 16, 2002 -- SENKO Advanced Components, Inc. and FITEL Interconnectivity Corporation have reached an agreement whereby SENKO will be the North American distributor of the FITEL/Furukawa Electric line of MPO Connectors (MPO housing kits and MT ferrules) and MT-RJ Connectors (MT-RJ housing kits and ferrules) and related components. These connectors are JIS C 5981 and IEC 61754-7 compliant and can be supplied for terminating singlemode or multimode ribbon cable with either 2, 4, 8, 12, 16 or 24 fibers in a single connector housing.
Ken Nakamura, Senior Executive Vice President of SENKO Advanced Components, stated "The addition of the FITEL MPO products to the extensive SENKO product portfolio provides our customers with the ability to obtain from us the fiber optic connector that best suits their application". The MPO is ideally suited for high-density backplane and printed circuit board applications.
