Spectral sensor for handheld medical devices by Ocean Optics

March 20, 2015
The Spark-VIS spectral sensor from Ocean Optics delivers high-resolution measurements over the visible wavelength range.

The Spark-VIS spectral sensor from Ocean Optics (Dunedin, FL) delivers high-resolution measurements over the visible wavelength range of 380-700 nm and optical resolution of 4.5-9.0 nm (FWHM). Available in both OEM and stand-alone configurations, the sensor performs absorbance, fluorescence, and luminescence measurements, and can be embedded to power next-generation portable and Internet-connected sensing devices in biotechnology, medical diagnostics, and other life sciences. It has utility in analyzing DNA, RNA, proteins, and blood oxygenation levels, and is compact enough for integration into point-of-care devices.
