Single-stage DPSS amplifier for life science applications by Unilase

Sept. 26, 2016
A compact single-stage laser amplifier for life science applications can scale up continuous-wave or pulsed low-power seed lasers to several watts of laser power.

A compact single-stage laser amplifier for life science applications (among others) from Unilase (London, England) can scale up continuous-wave or pulsed low-power seed lasers to several watts of laser power. Typically, a 1 mW laser can be amplified to >4 W and a 300 mW input beam amplified to >18 W. The mini-slab diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) design and scalable architecture offers extremely high gain and high average power output with good beam quality. In combination with a pulsed seed laser, efficient conversion of the amplified laser into the green and the UV is achievable.
