Hamamatsu Corporation (Bridgewater, NJ) has introduced the L10671, a new compact UV-VIS fiber light source with an S2D2 (Stable and Small Deuterium) lamp. The L10671 uses an S2D2 lamp and Tungsten lamp, with high radiant power and high stability with a fluctuation of 0.004% peak-to-peak (equivalent to 2 x 10-5 A.U.). It also features an external control and shutter function and operates on low voltage. The small size (72 mm x 40 mm x 90 mm) and light weight (200 g) of the L10671 make it ideal to use in portable devices which require a UV-VIS light source. Intended applications include spectrophotometry, environmental and biological measurements, absorption spectrum measurement, and pharmaceutical testing.
