CW lasers for bioinstrumentation by Coherent

Sept. 24, 2014
OBIS LG series continuous-wave (CW) lasers from Coherent deliver output powers as high as several watts, enabling higher signal-to noise ratio and/or shorter data acquisition times in bioinstrumentation applications such as flow cytometry and microscopy.

OBIS LG series continuous-wave (CW) lasers from Coherent (Santa Clara, CA) deliver output powers as high as several watts, enabling higher signal-to noise ratio and/or shorter data acquisition times in bioinstrumentation applications such as flow cytometry and microscopy. Models include a green laser (532 nm) that delivers 1 W of power and an ultraviolet laser (355 nm) that produces 20 mW of power, both of which deliver a TEM00 beam with near-perfect mode quality. A compact laser head integrates the laser cavity and all control electronics, and exceptionally low noise (0.25% RMS) allows utility in fluorescence excitation.
