Supercontinuum mid-IR laser by NKT Photonics

June 29, 2017
The SuperK MIR supercontinuum laser delivers more than 450 mW of continuous light from 0.9 to 4.2 μm.

The SuperK MIR supercontinuum laser from NKT Photonics (Birkerød, Denmark) delivers more than 450 mW of continuous light from 0.9 to 4.2 μm. The source features a monolithic all-fiber architecture, with its mid-infrared light fiber-delivered through a broadband fiber collimator. The laser is compatible with Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometers for fast detection and short integration time across the entire spectrum. Applications for the laser include component characterization, mid-IR microscopy, gas and combustion spectroscopy, and environmental sensing and standoff detection.
