NASHUA,NH—Peter Leibinger, Executive Vice-President of the Laser Technology and Electronics Business Division of TRUMPF GmbH + Co, has been chosen to give the keynote address at the 2008 Lasers and Photonics Marketplace Seminar. Leibinger will discuss TRUMPF’s rise to become the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial lasers and systems. Since 2004, TRUMPF has sustained double-digit growth year over year (65% between 2004 and 2007) and the company generated $2.6 billion in sales in 2006–2007.

“Achieving world leadership in industrial laser sales is a formidable task, and being the first industrial laser/system suppler to exceed the $2 billion mark is testament to a company that is keenly aware of the industrial market for photonics,”said David Belforte, editor-in-chief of Industrial Laser Solutions.“ As both alaser and system supplier TRUMPF isone of world leaders in the most popular industrial-laser applications (cutting, welding, and marking), and the company’s products are considered benchmark standards in the marketplace.”

TRUMPF’s lasers and systems products encompass a broad range of laser technologies, including low- and high-power CO2 lasers, low- and high-power solid-state lasers, disk and fiber lasers, diode lasers, and ultra-short pulse lasers.

Hosted by Laser Focus World, Strategies Unlimited, and Industrial Laser Solutions, the Lasers and Photonics Marketplace Seminar will beheld January 21, 2008 in San Jose, CA in conjunction with Photonics West. For more information, go to www.marketplaceseminar.com.
