ETP Photonics21 seeks applications for Student Innovation Award 2012

Düsseldorf, Germany--The Research, Education and Training work group of the ETP Photonics21 technology platform is seeking applications for its Photonics21 Student Innovation Award, which recognizes students in the photonics field working in research related to R&D with industrial impact.

Düsseldorf, Germany--The Research, Education and Training work group of the ETP Photonics21 technology platform is seeking applications for its fourth annual Photonics21 Student Innovation Award, which recognizes students in the photonics field working in research related to R&D with industrial impact.

Applicants must be the age of 35 or under and active in the field of optics and photonics to be eligible for the award, which consists of a certificate, a €5,000 cash prize, and free registration to the Photonics21 Annual Meeting in Brussels, which will take place on March 27–28, 2012. The prize will be awarded at the meeting's welcome reception in a ceremony on March 27.

Applicants must submit the following documents:

1. The completed application form

2. One letter of support (by a supervisor or mentor)

3. A short (two-page) biography/résumé

4. A list of peer-reviewed publications, including a description of the innovative R&D work (not exceeding four sides of A4 paper, in 12-point font), making clear the nature of the innovation and its potential impact to industry.
