San Jose, CA--M Squared Lasers, a manufacturer of ultrafast and tunable lasers for the commercial and scientific markets, welcomes Peter Bordui as its chairman. Over the past ten years, Bordui has served as director of a number of public and private technology companies in Europe and the U.S., including an extended role as chairman of fiber-optic component maker Bookham (now Oclaro).
Established in 2006, M Squared Lasers has achieved profitable, 100% year-on-year revenue growth since 2008 and expects this trend to continue. The company launched a range of critically enabling laser sources including continuous wave and ultrafast Ti:Sapphire systems and tunable sources operating in the mid-infrared and terahertz regions.
Graeme Malcolm, CEO and co-founder of M Squared Lasers said, "We are delighted to welcome Peter to the board and the growing team at M Squared Lasers. We are enthusiastic about working with him and benefiting from his experience and skills in scaling highly successful customer-focused photonics companies."
Bordui said, "I am impressed with the M Squared team and how they have managed to establish a profitable business in a relatively short period of time," he said. "The company has some disruptive technology, particularly in remote mid-IR sensing. I have been happy to see their management focus on problem-solving for their customers, and look forward to contributing to their progress. "
Bordui currently serves as chairman of both Luxembourg-based Media-Lario Technologies and BeamExpress of Switzerland. He has also held executive management roles at both Siemens Corporation and JDSU. He started his career in research and development of electronic materials and holds six patents in the field.
