Jena, Germany--Dr. Dietmar Wagner will head Jenoptik's Laser Processing Systems business unit of the Lasers & Material Processing division, effective this month. In this role, he will also be the new general manager of Jenoptik Automatisierungstechnik GmbH—one of the two companies within the unit.

Wagner has extensive knowledge and more than 25 years of experience in the laser technology and material processing industries. He has held various executive positions, most recently serving as managing director of LASAG AG (Thun, Switzerland).

The laser processing systems business unit of Jenoptik’s Lasers & Material Processing division specializes in automated and process-optimized machines and systems for laser-based material processing. Customers include companies from the automotive industry and its components suppliers, photovoltaics, and others.
