On Wednesday, May 16, at 1 p.m. EST, a free, live, one-hour webcast will provide an introduction to ion-beam sputtering, how it works, and why it is important to today's optics industry, which continually calls for higher quality, stable, and robust optical coatings.

To be led by John Davis, product marketing manager for Veeco Instruments, the webcast will cover the fundamentals of ion-beam sputtering, which benefits multiple aspects of optics--from anti-reflective coatings to multi-cavity bandpass filters to laser mirrors for the deep UV. He will also review recent innovations with the technology in high-volume production, including examples.
