SPIE promotes Cross, Hallett, and Greer

Bellingham, WA--SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, announced the promotion of three SPIE staff members:

Randy Cross has been promoted to Director of Event Services and Venues at SPIE. He is responsible for writing and negotiating contracts for event facilities and hotels for SPIE North American events, providing input on international event facility contracts, managing hotel room blocks and other facility commitments, and managing contracts with logistical vendors for housing, registration, audiovisual, decorating, and other event services. Cross joined SPIE in the Meetings and Exhibitions Department in June 1989.

Peter Hallett has been promoted to Director of Marketing and Industry Relations at SPIE. He leads the team responsible for marketing and public relations communications, database marketing and analytics, brand management, and design of web and print materials. He retains his prior responsibilities as manager of sales of exhibitions, sponsorships, and advertising. Hallett joined SPIE as Exhibitions Development Strategist in January 2005.

Tom Greer has been promoted to Manager of IT Operations at SPIE. The IT Operations team is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and security of all core network infrastructure including web systems, database systems, storage networks, email and telephone communications, computer desktop systems, and remote access systems. He retains his prior job responsibilities as Network Administrator. Greer joined SPIE as a systems administrator in May 2008.
