Horten, Norway--poLight, which makes reflowable deformable-polymer autofocus-actuated camera lenses for cell phones, has appointed Christian Dupont as its CEO. poLight is entering an industrialization and market phase after several years of technology and product development.
Christian Dupont took his position as poLight's new CEO on September 1st, 2010. Christian joins poLight from Varioptic, a leader in liquid lens technology, where he was CEO. Prior to this, he worked for 20 years at Texas Instruments. Christian Dupont graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Lausanne, Switzerland) in 1987.
"I am excited to join poLight," said Dupont. "I believe poLight technology is very well positioned to address the emergence of reflowable autofocus camera modules in the cellular-phone market. poLight is bringing close-up autofocus and fast video autofocus, which are key features for new mobile phones. Additionally this technology is leveraging existing MEMS foundries for production, which is key to serving cost-effective mass volumes to this very demanding market."
