Klastech appoints Madin as new CEO

Dortmund, Germany--KLASTECH Laser Technologies GmbH appointed Christopher J. Madin as managing director and CEO.

Dortmund, Germany--KLASTECH Laser Technologies GmbH is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher J. Madin as managing director and CEO. Madin joined KLASTECH in March 2009 as chief sales officer and has since concentrated on delivering a strong global sales funnel coupled to the development of a distinctive brand for the KLASTECH laser products. Madin has also led the company’s successful entry into the U.S. and Japanese markets and overseen the creation of global dedicated sales distribution channels.

Madin holds a Masters degree in Applied Optics and has over 15 years experience in the optoelectronic industry.

Bernd Geiger, managing partner for Triangle Venture Capital, the majority shareholder and company chairman, welcomed Madin’s appointment saying, "Mr Madin’s appointment is a great step forward for the company and underlines the transition of company focus from pre-serial development and sales to a larger commercial focus. Mr. Madin understands the KLASTECH business, its technology and business potential. He is very well placed to focus the company’s efforts towards ensuring that its engineering and operational capabilities continue to develop in order to maximise the very strong growth potential the company has identified in the market place."

Klastech was founded in 2005 by professor Fedor Karpushko, who invented the Intra-cavity Impedance-Matched Amplification Tuned laser technology.
