Wicked Lasers SmartSwitch Feature Leads Handheld Laser Industry In Safety Technology

Shanghai, China - October 6, 2010

Wicked Lasers, the preeminent brand in handheld lasers, has chosen its newest model, the S3 Spyder Arctic, to introduce its patent pending safety technology under the trademark of SmartSwitch.

Known for many firsts in laser innovation and product design, the company plans to incorporate the SmartSwitch technology into its full line of products that exceed the 5mW power level in 2011.

The SmartSwitch system combines safety and intelligence by requiring the user to follow a protocol of keypress clicks and click/holds to turn on and operate the device.

The SmartSwitch safety code entry is an unlock requirement, designed to prevent accidental and unauthorized use. Extensive field tests have proven its effectiveness.

Its preprogrammed circuitry is upgradeable and has default safety presets for low power mode and pulse mode.

The SmartSwitch system exceeds all FDA safety requirements for Class IIIb and IV handheld lasers and places Wicked Lasers at the forefront of laser product safety feature technology.
