FiberVision has announced its Nanosmart-PoE, a 5-megapixel intelligent camera with active PoE in an industrial housing. The heart of FiberVision's Nanosmart-PoE is the single-board camera VCSBC4012 nano by Vision Components (VC). All interfaces are provided via an RJ45 and an RJ48 plug. The RJ45 Power over Ethernet (active PoE) plug provides the 100 MBit data interface as well as power supply. The RJ48 plug makes available eight digital 24 V in- or outputs and a 24 V DC power supply. Well-defined short exposure times are available, even with the rolling shutter of the CMOS-camera with 5 megapixels. Features include 5-megapixel resolution, color or monochrome version, active power over Ethernet, freely programmable DSP processor on board, programmable microcontroller on-board, and tiny dimensions.

FiberVision launches Nanosmart-PoE
Nanosmart-PoE – Probably the smallest 5 MPixel intelligent camera with active PoE in an industrial housing.
The heart of FiberVision's Nanosmart-PoE is the single board camera VCSBC4012 nano by Vision Components (VC). But Nanosmart-PoE is more than just an intelligent cam-era with a well-thought-out body. All interfaces to the world outside are provided using just a RJ45 and a RJ48 plug. The RJ45 Power over Ethernet (active PoE) plug provides the 100 MBit data interface as well as power supply. The RJ48 plug makes available eight digital 24 V in- or outputs and a 24 V DC power supply. High speed in- and outputs are used for precise camera and flash light synchronization. The delay between flash trigger and exposure start is programmable as well as the flashing time. Thus, well defined short exposure times are available – even with the rolling shutter of the CMOS-camera with 5 Mega pixels. Six LEDs are available to display operational states. Their 3.3 V power supplies are made available on an OEM-plug. They may be used as additional outputs together with a dedicated flash trigger. The PoE power supply is galvanically isolated against the in- and outputs. Nanosmart-PoE can be power-supplied by a PC while it exchanges data with a PLC using the digital I/Os. No equalizing currents or ground loops will occur.
All new configuration modes and interfaces are made available using just one addi-tional function call using the familiar development tools for VC cameras. Nanosmart-PoE does not need any additional programming tools.
Nanosmart-PoE has a CS lens mount. An adapter for S-mount is available. A 5 mm spacer ring is provided with each system. Using this, the CS-mount becomes a C-mount. Thus, all established industry lenses can be used with Nanosmart-PoE.
FiberVision launches Nanosmart-PoE on the Vision 2009 show in Stuttgart/Germany. You will find Nanosmart-PoE on booth D31 in hall 4.
