BaySpec's new lab will support application-specific systems

BaySpec, Inc. (Fremont, CA) has established a new field sales and applications lab to promote and support application-specific, integrated optical spectral engine systems for its worldwide customer base. The new lab provides hands-on service supporting the technical complexity of BaySpec's application-specific, turnkey systems, allowing the company to "address a previously under-served segment of our analytical instrument market."

BaySpec, Inc. (Fremont, CA) has established a new field sales and applications lab to promote and support application-specific, integrated optical spectral engine systems for its worldwide customer base.

The new lab will complement BaySpec's existing sales structure--a direct, worldwide distributor network with more than 30 country offices. It provides hands-on service supporting the technical complexity of BaySpec's application-specific, turnkey systems--which include Raman benchtop and handheld instruments for molecular structure analysis. Other BaySpec turnkey systems include visible near infrared dispersive spectrometers with deep-cooled detectors for low light spectroscopy, narrow and wideband light sources, fiber Bragg grating (FBG) interrogation systems for smart structures and other fiber sensing applications, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) spectral engines for ophthalmology and in-vivo biological imaging. The lab includes an array of instrumentation such as optical spectrum analyzers, integrating spheres, polarization scramblers, tunable and fixed light sources, microscopes, temperature and humidity ovens and chambers, and fiber accessories.

The lab "allows us to address a previously under-served segment of our analytical instrument market," said William Yang, President, CEO & Founder of BaySpec. "We are now far better equipped to meet the needs of our application-specific system customers, who often require in-person consultation, on-site demonstrations and seminars, and a hands-on approach that we have not always been able to support." Yang adds that BaySpec can now support users ranging from product developers for original equipment manufacturers to researchers and technicians in large corporate labs and university settings.
