Erbium-doped fiber-amplifier (EDFA) gain blocks are designed for use in wavelength-division multiplexing and SDH single-channel applications and are qualified according to applicable Bellcore standards.

Erbium-doped fiber-amplifier (EDFA) gain blocks are designed for use in wavelength-division multiplexing and SDH single-channel applications and are qualified according to applicable Bellcore standards. The PGE 60830 comes in a standard-size package of 120 x 80 mm. The PGE 60831 is in an 88 x 70-mm package. Both support up to eight channels and are designed primarily for short-range metro applications. Output power and optimum gain point can be customized to meet system requirements.
