Dr. Andrea Slade

Sr. Applications Scientist, Life Sciences

Dr. Andrea Slade received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry / Biomedical Engineering (2004) from the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Prof. Chris Yip, on the integration of optical microscopy and spectroscopy with AFM for the study of biological membranes and membrane-protein interactions. From 2004-2005, she served as a Post-Doctoral Appointee with Sandia National Laboratories, under the supervision of Dr. Darryl Sasaki, where she used AFM and fluorescence techniques to study in situ toxin-membrane interactions for the purpose of biosensor development. Since joining Bruker in 2005, Andrea has focused on Life Science Applications and AFM education in biological research. Andrea has 17 years’ experience in AFM, numerous peer-reviewed publications, and has given seminars and presentations worldwide.
