Christopher Strand

Research Associate

Dr. Christopher Strand is a research associate in the Hanson Research Group at Stanford University. His dissertation at Stanford University work focused on development of the theoretical underpinnings of scanned-wavelength-modulation spectroscopy (scanned-WMS) and the application of high-bandwidth scanned-WMS for in-situ characterization of hypersonic impulse flow facilities and scramjet combustors. He has deployed sensors in facilities at Stanford University; the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA; NASA Langley Research Center in Langley, VA; DLR in Gӧttingen, Germany; and the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. In his present capacity as a research associate he is collaborating with GE Global Research – Bangalore in the development of a multispecies sensor for measurements in gas turbine exhaust.

Additionally, Christopher is a cofounder of LuminaLabs, a laser-based sensor and technology development company for energy, propulsion, health, and environmental applications. He is also a codeveloper of the cloud-based spectroscopic modeling software SpectraPlot.com.
