2023 Innovators Awards: Meet the honorees

For the sixth straight year, Laser Focus World held its Innovators Awards program, which celebrates the disparate and innovative technologies, products, and systems found in the photonics market.

The NED RX [prescription] tester is the world’s first augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) testing option designed to measure see-through image clarity and built-in prescription AR smart glasses, in high resolution and at high speed for high production volumes. It provides testing, measurements, and verification of AR smart glasses for device makers to embed their end users’ custom prescription to create a safe, seamless, and impactful digital experience, while maintaining high quality see-through performance metrics even when the device is turned off.

Device makers benefit with streamlined testing processes, greater insight into how their displays will be perceived, and better-quality products. By having access to this testing technology, they can also take advantage of increased reach to a previously untapped market segment benefiting end-users, AR/VR manufacturers, and the industry as a whole.

Congratulations to all of the honorees of the 2023 Laser Focus World Innovators Awards. Each year, this program has a panel of judges review each of the submissions and rate the level of innovation and its perceived benefit to the further evolution of the industry.

While we provide recognition at various levels (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze), it is important to note innovation at any level is important in pushing the market forward to further immerse photonics technologies into the applications and products improving our lives.
