A new high-energy laser weapon system could be a game-changer in war zones. Made to be rugged and portable, the setup is designed to protect against aerial threats and target, track, and destroy small- to medium-sized drones.

Using a Mikrotron megapixel camera to capture high-resolution, slow-motion videos of woodpeckers in action, researchers in Belgium have begun cracking the code of this bird’s interesting behavior.

A unique approach for medical imaging, combining AI and hyperspectral imaging, has the potential to add healthcare to the smartphone’s list of capabilities.
