Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England - Laser cutting and engraving specialist Cutting Technologies is showcasing its skills at top design exhibition Decorex International, an event that marks the start of the 2015 London Design Festival.

The company is collaborating with Material Lab, which is run and funded by tile manufacturer Johnson Tiles, to present their craftsmanship as part of an installation named The Future of Luxury Surface Design.

Designers featured by Material Lab include CUSTHOM, Gemma Kay Waggett, Giles Miller Studio, Studio Moon, and Anthony Roussel. The company will incorporate materials from leather hide, gilded glass, high-end metal effect finishes, engineered stone, chalk, and charcoal textures in their panels.

Cutting Technologies has chosen to laser-cut and engrave its surface panel on 5mm thick Perspex in Slate Grey from the naturals range. They will also be helping some of the other designers to create their masterpieces for the exhibition and collaborate with Material Lab to produce bespoke signage and decorative panels to adorn the installation. This includes 2.2m stainless and mild steel panels, which are laser engraved to give details of each designer and their work.

The Material Lab showcase will be available to view at Decorex International 2015, an event being held in London September 21-23.
