Scanlab names Dobbins as director of new business development

Amanda Dobbins has joined Scanlab America as director of new business development.

Laser scanning systems maker Scanlab (Puchheim, Germany) has appointed Amanda Dobbins as director of new business development for Scanlab America (St. Charles, IL), focused on developing laser scanning solutions for applications worldwide.

Since 2003, the company has operated in the US with a local subsidiary. To increase customer support and to better understand the needs of scanning applications, Scanlab is enlarging the US team, which includes Dobbins' appointment.

Amanda Dobbins, Scanlab America's director of new business development

Dobbins has 20 years of experience in working with OEM companies developing systems that use lasers, precision optics, and beam steering devices. She was formerly the director of sales and marketing of an optical components manufacturer, where she was responsible for new product introductions and collaborations in medical devices and analytical instrumentation. Previously, she spent more than a decade involved in applications including laser materials processing, biophotonics, and ophthalmology.

Dobbins earned her B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Leicester (England) in 1995.
