Elkhart, IN - Mishawaka Sheet Metal, a full-service aluminum, steel, and sheet metal products distributor, is making an almost-$1.6 million investment to continue to meet the needs of its customers. The company will equip its Elkhart facility with a state-of-the-art laser cutting machine as well as a new cut-to-length line to increase production, according to a news release.

Mishawaka Sheet Metal, which was founded in 1991, has seen increased demand from RV, cargo trailer, horse trailer, and shuttle bus manufacturers in recent years. The company currently employs 60 people, according to a release, but up to 20 new jobs are expected to be created. The laser cutting machine has already been installed and five to six people have already been hired for its operation. The laser cutting equipment arriving in August 2015 will also boost efficiency, as it is able to operate about six times faster than the current outdated machine.
