Effective November 4, 2016, laser equipment manufacturer Han's Laser has acquired CorActive High-Tech.

Effective November 4, 2016, laser equipment manufacturer Han's Laser (Shenzhen, China) has acquired CorActive High-Tech (Québec City, QC, Canada), which makes specialty optical fiber and fiber laser modules.

With the acquisition, CorActive is now a subsidiary of the $1 billion Chinese company. CorActive, however, will remain independent and continue its operation in Québec City.

For Han's Laser, CorActive would be a "small, but highly strategic acquisition," as it would help the Chinese laser maker boost its capabilities in fiber laser manufacturing and expand into new applications and geographies.
