Line processing head

Sept. 13, 2016
The LPH-L line processing head, when used with a fiber-coupled industrial laser system, can generate a 12 × 2mm welding line.

The LPH-L line processing head from LIMO Lissotschenko Mikrooptik (Dortmund, Germany), when used with a fiber-coupled industrial laser system, can generate a 12 × 2mm welding line. By rotating it, the welding line can be adjusted to a minimum length of 5mm. Variable handling (for example, mounted on a robot arm) makes it possible to achieve diverse welding geometries. In addition, the processing head is able to compensate for level differences in a component of up to 12mm. It allows processing of large, small, and fragile components such as membranes, opening up new possibilities in design and functionalization. An integrated measurement and control system monitors the welding process, and stores processing data to enable track and trace.
