Ultrafast single-crystal fiber laser

Sept. 2, 2016
The FEMTO ultrafast fiber laser is based on single-crystal fiber (SCF) technology.
The FEMTO ultrafast fiber laser from Fibercryst (Décines-Charpieu, France) is based on the company's Taranis single-crystal fiber (SCF) technology. It delivers femtosecond pulse widths <900fs with output powers up to 25W, pulse energies in excess of 80µJ (at 100kHz), and repetition rates selectable between 100kHz and 2MHz. Applications include cutting and drilling of hard materials, cold machining of polymers and composites, and micromachining and structuring of surfaces, such as medical devices and semiconductors.
