High-speed focuser

The BLINK high-speed focuser features a friction-free bearing that offers stable servo bandwidths in excess of 500Hz.

Nutfield Technology (Hudson, NH) has introduced its BLINK high-speed focuser, which features a friction-free bearing that offers stable servo bandwidths in excess of 500Hz. When used as the focusing element of a post-objective scanning system, the focuser dynamically maps a focal correction onto the laser beam as a function of its XY position to allow high-speed processing of large planar and 3D samples, with very small spot sizes. The focuser is capable of continuous operation with a 50G peak sine wave, and its ultra-low moving mass minimizes reaction forces.
