4JET opens new laser micromachining job shop

April 7, 2016
Laser system integrator 4JET Microtech has launched a job shop for precision glass processing, among other offerings.

Laser system integrator 4JET Microtech, a spin-off from sister company 4JET Technologies GmbH (Alsdorf, Germany), has launched a job shop for precision glass processing, thin films, and electronic components, offering services for laser cutting, drilling, thin-film patterning, and part marking using its portfolio of precision laser processing machines.

MicroFab is the first dedicated service provider for free-form glass cutting services utilizing a kerf-free Pearl Cut process. Other services include organic light-emitting diode (OLED) post-processing utilizing a selective layer modification (SLAM) process co-developed by 4JET and Novaled.

4JET also offers a large-format ITO patterning service for substrates up to Gen 4.5, addressing the needs of prototyping or low-volume production in displays, OLEDs, and other industries. Laser patterning eliminates the need to produce lithography masks, and greatly reduces turnaround times.

Glass sheets or other flat substrates up to approx. 1m2 can be processed with accuracies in the micron range, be it for part cutting, thin-film patterning, or positioning of vias.

4JET utilizes its own range of micromachining systems. The portfolio of lasers includes 355nm, 532nm, 1064nm, and 10.6µm wavelengths and femtosecond, picosecond, nanosecond, and continuous-wave (CW) pulse durations.
