Prima Power Laserdyne (Champlin, MN) has debuted its OFC2 ABSOLUTE precision measurement tool for laser processing, which provides 2.5µm absolute measurement resolution. A long working range (more than 100mm), independent of processing lens focal length, determines the location of reference features (edges, corners, holes, etc.) using more stand-off between the laser processing head and the workpiece. Measurement is made using a low-power laser that is coaxial with the beam path of the processing laser. The tool measures both shiny and dull materials, coated and uncoated, and visually light and dark surfaces.
