Precision measurement tool for laser processing

Prima Power Laserdyne has debuted its OFC2 ABSOLUTE precision measurement tool for laser processing, which provides 2.5µm absolute measurement resolution.

Prima Power Laserdyne (Champlin, MN) has debuted its OFC2 ABSOLUTE precision measurement tool for laser processing, which provides 2.5µm absolute measurement resolution. A long working range (more than 100mm), independent of processing lens focal length, determines the location of reference features (edges, corners, holes, etc.) using more stand-off between the laser processing head and the workpiece. Measurement is made using a low-power laser that is coaxial with the beam path of the processing laser. The tool measures both shiny and dull materials, coated and uncoated, and visually light and dark surfaces.
