Three employees win this award for excellence and leadership in manufacturing.

Farmington, Conn. - Three TRUMPF Inc.employees - Christine Benz, Annette Doyle, and Myrna Reyes - have been recognized by The Manufacturing Institute, Deloitte, University of Phoenix, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers with a Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) award for excellence and leadership in manufacturing.

The women are among 122 honorees, representing all levels of manufacturing from the factory floor to the C Suite. "These women are the faces of exciting careers in manufacturing," said Jennifer McNelly, president, The Manufacturing Institute. "We chose to honor these women because they each made significant achievements in manufacturing through positive impact on their company and the industry as a whole."

Benz joined TRUMPF Inc. as a laser development engineer. Now as manager, project engineering, she collaborates with the Engineering and Production Departments on large-scale projects, machine installations, new machine designs, retrofits and problem analysis.

As assembly department manager, Doyle is responsible for all aspects of machine assembly production. Her production planning and Lean manufacturing initiatives have enabled TRUMPF to increase production and quality goals during the economic rebound.

Dr. Reyes, R&D applications engineer, combines technical knowledge with strong relationship management skills. She is responsible for qualifying new laser systems for material processing and developing new technologies related to the laser cutting process.

On February 5, the recipients of the STEP Awards will be recognized at a reception in Washington, D.C.
