Waukesha, WI - Wisconsin Metal Parts Inc., an international full service provider of metal-forming services including custom metal stampings, sheet metal fabrications, and in-house precision tooling, has added a fiber laser cutting system to its capabilities for cutting stainless steel and other metals such as brass and copper.

Fiber laser technology, a fast growing tool used in metal fabricating technology, can cut metal parts ranging from small, intricate pieces to large items. It can be useful in a variety of industries that require stainless steel parts, such as food service trays and carts, dairy and brewing equipment, appliances, construction products, heat transfer systems, medical devices, automation equipment, marine parts, and aerospace.

Fiber lasers can cut thin metals three times faster than CO2 laser systems with high accuracy, operating more efficiently with lower maintenance costs. The system also reduces initial tooling costs and improves turnaround time, useful for OEMs that require parts until production.

Wisconsin Metal Parts uses a TRUMPF TruLaser 5030 Fiber unit: a 3-axis, disk laser fiber system with a maximum capacity 120 in x 60 in, maximum thickness of 1 in, and with accuracies as tight as 0.002 in.

Wisconsin Metal Parts was founded in 1988 and has 65 employees working three shifts. The company has more than 50,000 square feet of manufacturing space in Waukesha, where it provides CNC machined parts, sheet metal fabricating, prototype metal stamping, production of metal stampings, and tool and die making. The company is ISO 9001:2008 certified and specializes in producing parts that require multiple forms of production such as stampings that require secondary grinding, machining, or assembly.
