Diode laser material processing Webcast shows installations for laser welding

Jan. 23, 2014
In this free ILS Webcast, Wolfgang Todt of Laserline describes the developments made in commercial diode lasers and their use in laser welding and brazing.

Tulsa, OK - In the latest in a series of Webcasts on industrial laser materials technology presented by Industrial Laser Solutions, Wolfgang Todt, VP, US operations of Laserline Inc., describes the developments made in commercial diode lasers and their use in a variety of industries for welding/brazing, surface treatment, and cutting applications.

Diode lasers are now being installed by the hundreds for these applications in industries such as automotive. Ranging in power from 40 to 4000 W, these lasers are not only competing with non-laser processing, but with other laser technologies such as fiber and disk lasers.

Todt shows video of examples of installations using high-power diodes for tailored blank welding in steel and aluminum, surface treating shafts and machine tool ways, cutting auto body panels, and brazing auto body components on-line.
