Trumpf acquires subsidiary in Turkey

Laser and machine tool manufacturer Trumpf has expanded its base in the second half of 2014 by founding its own subsidiary in Turkey through the acquisition of an 80-percent stake in the company KOZ Makina Sanayi ve Dış Ticaret A.Ş.

The mechanical engineering industry is one of the most dynamic sectors in Turkey. Numerous companies from the automotive, electrical, and plastics industries are currently expanding their production capacities, leading to growing demand for machinery and equipment.

The headquarters of KOZ Makina is Istanbul. The company has approximately 40 employees, and in 2013 achieved sales of around €10 million. KOZ Makina was previously an authorized dealer for the distribution of Trumpf lasers and machine tools in Turkey.
