Trumpf appoints Hoecklin as president and CEO, promotes Doar to senior VP

Trumpf has named Peter Hoecklin as its new president and CEO, which became effective July 1, 2014.

Farmington, CT - Trumpf has named Peter Hoecklin as its new president and CEO, which became effective July 1, 2014. In his role, he is responsible for the company's subsidiaries and business operations in North America, including manufacturing, engineering, research and development, customer service, technical training, product sales, and applications. He succeeds Dr. Lars Gruenert, who held the role in interim for the last year. Gruenert will continue in his position as a member of the managing board of the Trumpf Group, as well as the executive VP and newly appointed CFO of Trumpf GmbH + Co. KG.

Peter Hoecklin, Trumpf president and CEO

Previously, Hoecklin worked for McKinsey + Co. and Emerson Electric Co. in a variety of functions, both in the US and Europe. He joined Trumpf in 2003 as director of purchasing in Ditzingen, Germany. He has since served the company in Germany and Asia, most recently as president and managing director of Trumpf (China) Co., Ltd.

Burke Doar, Trumpf senior VP

The company has also promoted Burke Doar to senior VP. He joined the company in 2002 as VP of customer services and was promoted to VP, sales and marketing in 2003. He also serves as the immediate past chairman of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA).
