Conference to focus on laser technologies in welding and materials processing

March 25, 2009
Laser Technologies in Welding and Materials Processing (LTWMP) 2009 conference will bring together researchers and developers from different countries to discuss problems and solutions associated with industrial laser developments and applications.

The current global economic crisis is demonstrating that modern society is able to survive only by being constantly on alert regarding upcoming challenges, open to trends in science and technology, and welcoming innovations in any field of human activity. With that in mind, the fourth international conference on Laser Technologies in Welding and Materials Processing (LTWMP) 2009 will bring together researchers and developers from different countries to discuss problems and solutions associated with industrial laser developments and applications.

The E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute and the Laser Technology Research Institute of the NTUU "Kiev Polytechnic Institute" are the chief organizers of the conference. The conference will be held May 26 to 29 at the House of Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine, Crimea, Katsiveli. Conference topics include equipment, technologies, and applications such as laser welding, laser cutting, laser marking and engraving, surface treatment, rapid prototyping, and more.
