The STX Mark III 2D laser cutting system from Mazak Optonics Corp. (Elgin, IL) features a proprietary vibration dampening frame and integrated laser resonator that ensures stable, high accuracy cutting. The constant-beam length construction provides uniform cutting performance at any location on the machine table, eliminating the problem of beam divergence.

Other system features include intelligent setup functions for automated nozzle spatter removal, a three station nozzle changer, and focal point measurement and adjustment capability. These features are components of Mazak’s Opti-Pod, which helps to minimize system setup time and improve extended unattended operation while maintaining optimized machining conditions. The Mark III also incorporates a new Servo Focus Torch. This servo driven system significantly reduces piercing time and increases productivity. Additional new technology includes a High Accuracy Auto Centering Lens and Nozzle design that further reduces setup and increases productivity as well as pierce, plasma and poor cut sensing to assure consistent performance over a wide range of materials.

The STX Mark III offers 4’x8’, 5’x10’ and 6’x12’ table configurations with 2,500 (.87” CRS) or 4,000 (1” CRS) watts. It is available with a large range of automated material handling systems including Load/Unload Cells and Flexible Manufacturing Systems.
