FOBA Laser Marking + Engraving, Selmsdorf/ Lüdenscheid, Germany, has released the MarkUS high-performance laser marking software with intuitive and easy-to-use interfaces and high-precision laser control.

MarkUSTM is compatible with the majority of FOBA’s laser marking systems and machines and supports the control of up to 3 axes, including a rotary axis. FOBA’s new software for laser marking is available in English, German, Spanish, French and Italian. Other languages such as Chinese will follow soon.

MarkUS comes with a suite of three powerful programs with several configurable User levels:
--MarkUS Designer is the easy-to-use graphic design software interface for creating, editing and setting up laser marking jobs. Color codings, floating toolbars and the use of common icons support the intuitive and visual user guidance.
--MarkUS Runtime is the intuitive user interface and high-performance laser control software for the start, stop, and production of laser markings. The Runtime module provides all status information on both machine and marking jobs and is especially easy-to-use as it comes with the same controls as the laser marking system or machine.
--MarkUS Administrator is the interface for system setup and configuration.

Various marking contents and formats are available, including multiple language fonts, machine-readable codes, several graphic import filters, grayscale images, complex fillings, advanced text editing, sequence and serial numbering; automatic date, layer, time coding, real-time clock; and online coding of individual data.

MarkUS comes with a built-in grayscale image support for the convenient creation of grayscale markings and features unique add-on capabilities such as remote control via TCP/IP, Profibus or serial communication for increased automation and productivity.

The vision tool option Point & ShootTM eliminates the lengthy phases of trial-and-error used to align the laser mark to the part. With Point & Shoot, users visually position the mark on the part with an accuracy of a line width. This WYSIWYG tool helps reduce fixtures and fixture related costs, significantly curtails time consuming trial-and-error processes, and ensures upfront verification of what the mark will look like and where it will be applied.
