Mumbai, India – An exclusive exhibition fair on application of laser systems in manufacturing, LaserTech 2010, will be held here on November 24-26, 2010. The objective of the event is to bring manufacturers face-to-face with the concept, benefits and applications of laser systems in their own manufacturing processes.
Today's laser technology, thanks to considerable assets (power, flexibility, speed and quality of execution), presents more and more applications in the industrial world. It thus becomes, for certain companies, an attractive manufacturing technology, making it possible to reduce the costs and the manufacturing lead times.
An area where the technology has been seen as irreplaceable is manufacturing items in small numbers, which could then later be scaled up in quick time. Industries experienced a complete turn-around in terms of the batch production process, where earlier it could only produce large quantities to benefit from volume sales. Now laser technology can produce smaller batches at faster speed and therefore take advantage of the cost effectiveness.
Expected to exhibit are: manufacturers of laser sources, laser cutting systems - 2D & 3D, laser welding systems, cameras and CCD components; laser system integrators; laser job-shoppers; and automation companies.
