Laservision introduces laser safety roll-up barrier for temporary laser safety
Laservision USA, St. Paul, Minn., has introduced a laser safety roll-up barrier for temporary laser safety during service, maintenance, or demonstration of laser systems. It is a multi-layer system with a glass fiber-woven tissue, an aluminum foil, and a surface based on polyurethane.
The new system is characterized by flexibility combined with high stability. The laser safety roll-up consists of one basic module of the new lightweight certified laser safety curtain shelter. Its dimensions are 2 x 0.94 m (78" by 37") and it weighs15 pounds.
The curtain is held in place by two metal profiles and put upright by means of a special metal expanding system. The design of the lower holder and the support structure on the back side keep the whole system securely in place without the need of any additional fixation. The user can choose to mount the laser side to the inner or outer side of the structure.
Multiple roll-up elements can be connected together with Velcro straps, forming a larger enclosure or laser-safe area. Due to the high flexibility without a rigid frame, it is even possible to connect and form stable 90 degree corners.
With this roll-up, part #16770, the maximum irradiance level is 500 w/cm2 at a maximum exposure time of 100 sec. The barrier includes a transportation bag and foldable telescope frame.
