LASYS 2012 to take place a week earlier

Stuttgart, Germany – LASYS 2012 will take place June 12-14, 2012, a week earlier than previously planned so that it can occur along with five automotive trade fairs. As the manufacture of vehicles is an important focus in laser material processing, the consolidation of the events on the same date is an advantage for all participants, said show organizers.

Stuttgart, Germany - LASYS 2012 will take place June 12-14, 2012, a week earlier than previously planned so that it can occur along with five automotive trade fairs. As the manufacture of vehicles is an important focus in laser material processing, the consolidation of the events on the same date is an advantage for all participants, said show organizers.

In 2012, LASYS will take place in parallel with the annual trade fairs Engine Expo (international trade fair for engine design, components, manufacturing, test, and development),Vehicle Dynamics Expo (international showcase, exhibition, and conference for vehicle dynamics, technologies and components), European Automotive Components (international trade fair for automotive component suppliers), Automotive Testing Expo (international automotive test, evaluation, and quality engineering trade fair) and Automotive Interiors Expo (car and truck interior design, development and construction showcase), organized by the British company UKIP Media & Events Ltd.

O&S, the international trade fair for surface treatments and coatings, which already took place at the same time as LASYS in 2010, will also be brought forward a week and complement the trade fair offering. The Stuttgart Laser Days (SLT), a fixed component of LASYS, will also take place from June 12 to 14 in the ICS, International Congress Center Stuttgart.

"With this decision, we have created an ideal win-win situation for the exhibitors and visitors," said Meike Mayer, project manager of LASYS. "For the visitor, this means he can concentrate on one trade fair location and, at the same time, obtain a wealth of information on topics. The exhibitors benefit from a considerably wider spectrum of specialist visitors from the most important target industries."

In addition to the new date, the LASYS committees also decided to further enhance the profile of the trade fair. The new sub-title, "International Trade Fair For Laser Material Processing," should clarify, even more than before, that LASYS is a trade fair for the user. "Machines, processes and services, including laser-specific machine subsystems will be the clear focus of LASYS", explained Mayer.

LASYS 2012 is expected to take place in Hall 6, integrated between the UKIP trade fairs in Halls 1, 3, and 5 and O&S 2012, which will occupy Halls 7 and 9.

The second LASYS, LASYS 2010, saw an increase in visitors over the first show in 2008.
