UK laser processing symposium brings industry and researchers together

Abingdon, Oxford, UK – The AILU's (Association of Laser Users) biannual Industrial Laser Application Symposium, to be held March 15 and 16, 2011, in Warrington, brings the UK industrial user and research communities together to highlight developments and opportunities in laser manufacturing applications, covering a wide range of macro- and fine-scale processing.

Abingdon, Oxford, UK – The AILU's (Association of Laser Users) biannual Industrial Laser Application Symposium, to be held March 15 and 16, 2011, in Warrington, brings the UK industrial user and research communities together to highlight developments and opportunities in laser manufacturing applications, covering a wide range of macro- and fine-scale processing.

The first ILAS in 2009 was a great success, attracting over 110 delegates and initiating many new links between and within the research and manufacturing communities. ILAS 2011 has been greatly expanded and includes:
• 3 plenary presentations with different perspectives on innovation and invention in lasers and laser applications;
• 7 keynote presentations addressing: laser machine technology, laser beam shaping, additive manufacturing, laser cutting, micro-joining, welding, surface modification, and solar cell manufacture; and
• 55 technical presentations that run in parallel sessions in seven main processing areas.

Full information is now available on the AILU site and there is a 10% early bird discount for those registering by the end of January 2011. Sign up for one or both days, as delegate or exhibitor. Payment is by invoice and there is a further 15% discount for AILU members and those who join later.
