RPMC releases 4 W and 10 W industrial femtosecond lasers

RPMC, O'Fallon, Mo., has released the D2.fs industrial femtosecond laser available at 4 W and 10 W with pulse widths as short as 400 fsec at rep rates up to 200 kHz.

RPMC Lasers, O'Fallon, Mo., has released the D2.fs industrial femtosecond laser available at 4 W and 10 W with pulse widths as short as 400 fsec at rep rates up to 200 kHz.

SiN/SiO layers on silicon substrate, 1-shot ablation with 40 µJ at 100 kHz.

The D2.fs produces a maximum energy of 200 µJ at 50 kHz and 100 µJ at 100 kHz with an emission wavelength of 1030 nm. The D2.fs incorporates the use of a fiber seed oscillator and produces ultra-short pulses with high energy and consistent high beam quality. The D2.fs is capable of being "out of the box" in approximately one hour.

The D2.fs is suitable for micromachining, spectroscopy, and other scientific applications where peak energy and precision are needed. The high rep rates combined with the high beam quality make the D2.fs a superior tool for micromachining and microstructuring of materials without causing thermal side effects. The stable design of the D2.fs allows it to have balanced operation over long-term operation and temperature variances, making it superior to comparable femtosecond lasers.
