Fort Collins, Colo. – Wohlers Associates Inc. announces that Tim Caffrey, who has worked with them on projects for more than 10 years, will expand his role with the company, including development of a national additive manufacturing roadmap for a country in the Asia/Pacific region.

Caffrey is a mechanical engineer and was employed by The Boeing Company and Pratt & Whitney. At Boeing, he gained valuable experience in directing the operation of in-house additive manufacturing services. In the late 1990s, Caffrey served as plant manager of the largest (at the time) additive manufacturing service provider in the world. He brings to Wohlers Associates a combination of 15 years of writing experience and an industry-specific technical background.

“Tim has worked tirelessly with me in the background for a long time,” said Terry Wohlers, principal consultant and president of Wohlers Associates. “I give him a lot of credit for his outstanding work on the past several editions of our industry report, as well as CAD textbooks that he and I have worked on together for McGraw-Hill. With his new phase of involvement, Tim will contribute to an expanding range of projects at our company. I am very lucky to be able to work with an individual of his caliber and integrity.”
