LEONI Fiber Optics acquires North American fiber optic specialist

Chandler, Ariz.– LEONI Fiber Optics has acquired, through its U.S. subsidiary FiberTech USA Inc., the technology company RoMack Inc. in Williamsburg, Va. RoMack specializes in fiber optic systems solutions in the aerospace, optical analysis, medical device and industrial laser areas.

Chandler, Ariz. – LEONI Fiber Optics has acquired, through its U.S. subsidiary FiberTech USA Inc., the technology company RoMack Inc. in Williamsburg, Va. RoMack specializes in fiber optic systems solutions in the aerospace, optical analysis, medical device and industrial laser areas.

The companies complement each other with their portfolios. Fiber Tech USA Inc. specializes in medical laser applications and RoMack Inc. specializes in fiber optics for research and industrial applications. The full spectrum of optical technologies by the combined FiberTech RoMack Inc. will be offered to the target markets in North and South America.

The registered office of the new entity will be in Chandler, AZ, at its current location. The Virginia-based RoMack remains intact; its Williamsburg location will be the operational base of the new entity with significant manufacturing, research, quality control and customer support capability. Matthew Webb, founder and president of RoMack, and Armin Kaus, president and CEO of FiberTech USA, will act jointly as president and CEO of the new entity.

With this acquisition, the LEONI Group strengthens its market position in North America and underlines its strategy for strength in technologically sophisticated niche markets.
