Jenoptik reorganizes Lasers & Material Processing and Optical Systems divisions

Jena, Germany – The Laser Technology division of Jenoptik Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH and Jenoptik Laserdiode GmbH have merged to form Jenoptik Laser GmbH, according to a company press release today. The release also said that the Optics, Microoptics and Digital Imaging business units of Jenoptik Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH now operate under the business name Jenoptik Optical Systems GmbH.

Jena, Germany – The Laser Technology division of Jenoptik Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH and Jenoptik Laserdiode GmbH have merged to form Jenoptik Laser GmbH, according to a company press release today. The release also said that the Optics, Microoptics and Digital Imaging business units of Jenoptik Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH now operate under the business name Jenoptik Optical Systems GmbH.

With the formation of Jenoptik Laser GmbH and Jenoptik Optical Systems GmbH, the legal entity structures in Germany now follow Jenoptik’s new divisional organization, which consists of five divisions.

The spin-off of the Laser Technology business unit and the merger of Jenoptik Laserdiode GmbH into Jenoptik Laser GmbH became effective with the entry into the Commercial Register of the Local Court of Jena on May 3, 2010.

Thus, the assets of the Laser Technology business unit and of Jenoptik Laserdiode GmbH, including all existing contractual relationships and human resources, have been transferred to Jenoptik Laser GmbH in accordance with the German Reorganization of Companies Act. All rights and obligations from existing contracts, proposals and orders will be fulfilled by Jenoptik Laser GmbH without any disadvantages on the part of our customers and suppliers.

Jenoptik Laser GmbH will pool its resources and focus its work on laser sources over the entire value chain in the field of OEM laser sources, from epitaxial layer structuring of wafers, over semiconductor material and diode lasers, up to solid-state and fiber lasers.

Jenoptik Optical Systems GmbH
After the spin-off of the Laser Technology business unit, the former company Jenoptik Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH will completely dedicate its efforts to the field of developing, manufacturing and selling systems and components for optical and opto-electronic applications. In order to accentuate this focused approach, the company’s name has changed to Jenoptik Optical Systems GmbH.

Operating under the new name, Jenoptik Optical Systems GmbH with its three business units – Optics, Microoptics and Digital Imaging –will continue to act as the lead company of the Optical Systems division within the Jenoptik Group structure, combining all activities in the field of optics and optoelectronics.
