January 25----Business Media China AG has concluded a principal agreement with the owners of China International Optoelectronics Exposition (CIOE) to acquire 70% ownership of this leading exhibition in China in the field of optical and laser techniques for industrial purposes.
CIOE is organized annually in September at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, PR China.
CIOE hosts 1700 exhibitors at a total of 45,000 m2 floor space. Nearly 40% of the exhibitors are international companies showing the latest developments in the optoelectronics industry. CIOE 2006 had 70,000 visitors, of which 25% were international.
Reportedly, the acquisition of CIOE fits perfectly within the strategic goal of Business Media China to futher enlarge the portfolio of high-tech industrial events in China. It also provides Business Media China with a broad platform for the exisiting products and to accelerate new product development in an important region in China.
