Strengthening sales channels, IPG Photonics partners with MC Machinery

Aug. 22, 2017
MC Machinery will promote IPG Photonics' growing portfolio of industrial laser systems for materials processing applications.

High-power fiber laser maker IPG Photonics (Oxford, MA) and MC Machinery Systems (MCM; Elk Grove Village, IL) have formed a partnership in which MCM will promote IPG Photonics' growing portfolio of industrial laser systems for materials processing applications.

The partnership focuses on the sales and service of IPG Photonics' Multi-Axis fiber laser system, according to Bill Isaac, senior vice president, MCM Sales & Marketing. MCM, part of the global Mitsubishi Corporation, draws from an extensive global source of support and innovation, as Mitsubishi employs more than 60,000 people around the world.

IPG Photonics' Systems Group produces a line of Multi-Axis laser processing workstations that can be configured for welding, cutting, drilling, or cladding applications. These systems are modular in design and can be sold as standalone laser machining workcells or as fully automated processing units through the addition of custom-designed part handling. These machining systems are based around the company's fiber lasers, beam delivery, and process head components.
