The Precision Raster Scan polygon controller enables high-power ultrafast lasers to perform laser cleaning or surface modification at hundreds of meters per second.

The Precision Raster Scan polygon controller from Precision Laser Scanning (Scottsdale, AZ) enables high-power ultrafast lasers to perform laser cleaning or surface modification at hundreds of meters per second. The controller synchronizes a high-speed polygon scanner with a galvanometer scanner and a high-power laser for a raster scan more than 10X faster than is possible with traditional galvo scanners. Start-Of-Scan detection tells the controller precisely when each scan line starts, allowing the controller to turn on the laser at the correct time. The range and overlap of the y-axis galvo motion are adjustable. The controller has an analog output to control the movement of the galvo, as well as a safety interlock input. The system runs standalone or in real time via USB.
